
The North Island Menopause Society is a community non-profit dedicated to improving education, awareness, and support for women navigating Perimenopause, Menopause, and Post-Menopause.
We are a growing grassroots organization and are currently looking for volunteers who would like to use their skills to support women in the North Island Community. We are specifically seeking volunteers in the following area’s:
Digital Marketing Volunteer
Purpose of the Role
Working closely with the society board members, help increase awareness of the Menopause Conference and overall menopause education, through growing our online presence and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and help create content for our online platforms including social media posts, videos, ads and any other ideas you may have.
- Promote our upcoming conference, speakers, and educational resources
- Monitor engagement with an aim to grow our audience
- Help develop ideas to grow the organizations online presence
Ideal Skills
- Familiar with social media platforms, best practices for engagement and graphic design.
- Experience with scheduling content
- Knowledgeable using systems like Meta Business
- Experience editing photos for social media (sizing)
- Basic marketing or social media experience
- Comfortable working with a google drive
- Interest in Women’s health, community education, and working with a variety of people
Website Support Volunteer
(Web Maintenance)
Purpose of the Role
Help maintain and update the organization’s website to keep information current and accessible.
Key Responsibilities
- Update website content (schedule, speakers, front page, expo, resources)
- Help maintain site structure and usability
- Assist with posting newsletter
- Ensure event information is posted clearly
Ideal Skills
- Experience with WordPress
- Basic understanding of websites and comfortable working with a google drive
- Attention to deal
Finance/Treasurer Support Volunteer
Purpose of the Role
Support the financial organization of the society and assist with budgeting for the annual event and programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Help update income and expense tracking spreadsheets
- Assist with simple financial reports
- Support budgeting for the annual conference
- Help develop operational procedures that follow best practices for financial accountability and reporting for non-profits.
Ideal Skills
- Bookkeeping, accounting, or budgeting experience
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and working with a google drive
- Organized and detail-oriented
Community Outreach Ambassadors
Purpose of the Role
Help raise the profile of the North Island Menopause conference by meeting people face-to-face.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend community events, fairs, and local gatherings
- Speak with women and community about menopause and the great resources of the community
- Share information about the North Island Menopause Society
- Help distribute materials or promote the annual event
